Tinto Lerma

Tinto Lerma Crianza. Tempranillo 100%
Production: 60.000 Bottles (75 cl), 1.000 Magnums (150 cl)

The vineyards from which this wine originates are located in the area around Lerma, in the valley of the Arlanza River, a tributary of the well-known River Duero.

The grapes were hand-picked when they had reached the optimum ripeness. Thebunches arrived to the winery, in 15 Kg plastic crates, where are sorted on a table and de-stemmed. The grapes were then pumped into small stainless-steel vats and kept at a low temperature for several days, where a slow fermentation was carried out at 26ºC. The ageing that it then received for 12 months in new American and French oak barrels produces a full, fruity wine.

COLOUR: Intense dark cherry colour with garnet edges.

NOSE: This is a wine full of complexity; an interesting blend of dark fruit and fine oak. Predominant fruit notes are of cassis, while wood such as cedar is evident, in addition to the liquorice characteristic typically associated with Tempranillo grapes.

PALATE: On the palate this wine is fleshy and well-structured; a succulent wine with extraordinary fullness.

September 2009.
